Enjoy a high-quality, regional breakfast buffet featuring fresh-from-the-oven pastries, delicious spreads, and aromatic coffee and tea specialties. When the weather is nice, the terrace with its view of the Rhine is the perfect place to start your day in a relaxed atmosphere.

Vacation with a child


Families are very welcome. We are happy to provide a crib free of charge. For children ages 3 to 17, we charge €30 per night when they stay in their parents’ room—including all the amenities of our castle hotel.

Dogs are welcome


Four-legged companions are also welcome guests at our castle hotel. We charge €15 per dog per night to cover the additional cleaning costs.

Please let us know in advance so we can make the best possible arrangements for your stay. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the museum area or the historic grounds.

  • Where can I park?

    In front of the castle gate, you will find designated parking spaces where you can park your vehicle for free during your visit. Additional free parking spaces are available below Reichenstein Castle on Federal Highway 9. From there, it takes about a 5-minute walk to reach the castle grounds. Upon arrival and departure, you are welcome to drive your car up to our reception area to load and unload your luggage as conveniently as possible. You can charge your electric vehicle for free at our three charging stations.

  • How do I get there?

    By car from Frankfurt, Mainz, Wiesbaden: 

    Take the A60 toward Wiesbaden; at the Schiersteiner Kreuz interchange, take the A643 toward Bingen; at the Mainz interchange, take the A60 toward Bingen; at the Nahetal interchange, take the A61 toward Cologne; after 500 meters, take Exit 49 (Bingen-Mitte), then take the B9 toward St. Goar; after 10 kilometers you will reach Trechtingshausen; after 800 meters, turn left onto Burgweg and drive to the castle gate.


    By car from Cologne, Koblenz, or Mannheim:

    Take the A61 highway, exit at 49 (Bingen-Mitte), then take the B9 toward St. Goar. After 10 kilometers, you will reach Trechtingshausen; after 800 meters, turn left onto Burgweg and drive to the castle gate.


    Parking:

     There are 20 parking spaces in front of the castle gate, which can be closed off as a bus turning area if necessary. Another 50 parking spaces are located below the castle on the B9. A short walk takes you up to the castle in 2 minutes. All parking spaces are free of charge.


    By train: 

    From Frankfurt, Mannheim, Cologne, 

    From Koblenz, there are various RE, EC, and IC trains to Bingen (Rhein) Central Station. From there, you can continue on to Trechtingshausen via the Mittelrheinbahn (see “Getting There by Public Transportation”) or take a taxi, which will take you to the castle in about 10 minutes.

    By public transportation: 

    From Bingen (Rhine) Central Station, take the MRB 25320 toward Koblenz (travel time approx. 4 minutes). Get off at Trechtingshausen (the first stop after Bingen Central Station). The walk to the castle takes 5–7 minutes.

  • Can I bring my dog to the hotel or restaurant?

    We love dogs, and they are warmly welcome at the Boutique-Hotel Burg Reichenstein and at the “Puricelli” restaurant. To cover the additional cleaning costs, we charge a fee of €15 per dog per night. Unfortunately, your dog is not permitted in the historic area (the castle museum and its grounds). Please be sure to register your dog in advance; otherwise, we cannot guarantee your stay.

  • What is the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site?

    The Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site is a cultural landscape along the Middle Rhine that was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on June 27, 2002. The World Heritage Site stretches from Bingen/Rüdesheim to Koblenz over a distance of 67 km. 

    The Rhine—one of the world’s largest rivers—has witnessed and shaped numerous eras of human history. Through the valley 

    One of Europe’s most important transport routes runs through the region. For two millennia, it has facilitated cultural exchange between the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.  The Upper Middle Rhine Valley is an extraordinary, self-contained cultural landscape—with the continuous evolution of traditional ways of life and unique communication routes in the narrow river valley.   • What time can I check into my room?

    You can check in starting at 3:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive earlier, please contact us to see if early check-in is possible.

  • By what time do I need to check out on the day of departure?

    Rooms must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure so that we can provide the same level of service to our next guests as we did to you.

  • As a hotel guest, can I visit the museum outside of regular hours?

    You’re also welcome to enjoy the outdoor area of the spacious museum grounds after 6 p.m.—perhaps with a glass of wine in the castle garden? 

    The indoor areas are closed after 6 p.m. 

  • How many rooms are there at Reichenstein Castle?

    For your stay, our boutique BURGHOTEL REICHENSTEIN offers 23 comfortable and stylishly furnished rooms. Wi-Fi is available in all hotel rooms. Do your guests come from all over the world, from near and far? We would be happy to reserve the appropriate number of rooms for you at our hotel—including flexible on-call allocations—tailored to your specific needs. 

    Our newly opened ROSS&ROSE winery inn, with 11 rooms, offers additional lodging options. We also work closely with nearby hotels and guesthouses.

  • What time does breakfast start?

    The breakfast buffet is available from 7:30 to 10:30

  • Is there a place where I can store my luggage?

    Please contact us directly regarding this matter. We would be happy to store your luggage at the front desk.

  • Is there a bike rental service?

    No, we don't have a minibar in the room. All rooms at the Burghotel are equipped with a kettle and a small selection of coffee and tea, which guests are free to use.

  • What amenities do the rooms have?

    All rooms feature flat-screen TVs with HDMI and USB ports, an internal phone line, and high-quality box-spring beds. Our spacious bathrooms are equipped with a toilet and rain shower, a cosmetic and shaving mirror, toiletries, and a hairdryer.
